About

“Empathy is simply listening, holding space, withholding judgment, emotionally connecting, and communicating that incredibly healing message of ‘you’re not alone’.” ~Unknown

Crested Butte State of Mind. Real services for real people.  We are based on the belief that you are never alone, no matter what you are facing. Sometimes life can take a crazy u-turn. Whatever happens in your life, you are not the first to face it, nor will you be the last. Perhaps no one has experienced it the way you have, but  someone out there knows what it feels like to walk through what you are walking through right now.  No matter what is going on in your life, what you think you have messed up or how you think you have failed, you are a good person and you are loved. There is a tribe of people who care about you and what happens in your life. Don’t believe the thoughts that tell you aren’t loved and nobody cares. That is a lie that our brains tend to feed us when we are down. Here is the truth: You are important and you are loved by your community, your friends, and your family.

With time and the right support, we believe there is no problem too big to solve. We, at Crested Butte State of Mind, are here to help you connect with your inner power and ability to find solutions to the issues you are facing. We connect our community to resources, education, and free counseling scholarships to stand up to stigma, increase mental wellness, and the lower the rate of suicide in the Gunnison Valley.
